Toph Listens…

I’ve decided that since I am such a big fan of music I should update you guys every now and again to what I am listening to, and why. Before, in the old days when I wrote on Myspace, I would place a little CD up in there to let you all know. Now, I can’t do that (by that I mean Ray hasnt told me the plugin to download). So, let’s get into it.

Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of sad white bastard music. I’m not depressed or anything like that, I just want to sit in my cold, dark room slitting my wrists. I believe it’s perfectly normal for us Emo Kids to do that. Wait… when did I become an Emo Kid? Beer and Poon Forever!

JR Joshua Radin – I really dig slow singer songwriters, so this appeals to me. If you don’t like it, then listen to something else. If you do, then good for you, so do I. The song Closer is great if you like your lady. Put it on for her while you do it. She’ll think you’re sensitive.

AF Arcade Fire – Maybe they’re a little bit more your speed? Maybe you should shut up. I recently started listening to them, and I’m not sure why. They were a recommendation from someone, and I don’t know who. Do this right now: Go to Limewire, and download the song Yeah Toast!! It’s done in a radio studio, and it makes me laugh. DO IT.

BS Babyshambles – I seem to be obsessed with what Pete Doherty and Kate Moss do, and I’m not going to lie, the music isn’t bad. Listen to it and disagree with me. But, wha’s better is the amount coke the guy puts up his nose. Seriously, how can you even function with that much blow in your system? I’d constantly shit myself.

GL Greg Laswell – There is not a song on this album that I don’t like. From the song Sing, Theresa Says all the way through Your Melody, I was hooked. I would describe it as mellow, cracker music, but I would check it out for myself if I were you. It’s great, and it’s another CD that makes it easy for panties to drop. We all like that, don’t we?

  • Two things my friend:

    1) I thought you said you couldn’t put up the little cd’s? You had me all sad but then, all of a sudden, there they were! They rather scared me and in the future I would like to be prepared.

2)I don’t know if the Yeah Toast! by Arcade Fire is the same Yeah Toast! that I know (though I’m assuming so because let’s be honest, how many songs titled Yeah Toast! can there be) then you are my hero of the week. Hands down best thing I’ve ever listened to. FRENCH TOAST!

  • well, i couldn’t… but i uploaded them to the blog individually, and here we are.

i’m not sure it’s arcade fire either… but the shit cracks me up…

  • couldn’t agree more
